Matthew Giallongo is a classically trained Baritone who has a made a home in the both the Opera and Musical Theatre worlds. Matthew is a sought after soloist and performer for his incredible commitment to character and ability to transport his audience to the world he creates.
Matthew is a lover and pioneer of contemporary music. In the Summer of 2012 he attended the music festival SongFest where he worked with composers Libby Larsen and William Bolcom. Matthew is also a member of CANTATICA, a contemporary mixed vocal ensemble.
As no stranger to theatre and opera he has worked on all aspects of a show--ranging from costume design and construction, to music directing, and to acting. Favorite roles include: the Baker (Into the Woods), Peter (Hänsel unt Gretel) and Papageno (Die Zauberflüte).
As a pianist Matthew has a lucrative career as a collaborate pianist; accompanying shows and recitals for vocalists and instrumentalists. At home in Boston Matthew maintains a private piano and voice studio. Please contact him if you are interested in lessons.
Matthew is a currently pursuing his M.M. in Vocal Performance from Temple University. His primary voice teachers are Dr. Lawrence Indik, Mr. Jeffrey Fahnestock, and Ms. Janet Glasser.
